Furch’s unique and modern take on high gloss finish | Brickhouse Guitars

The First thing I have always noticed about Furch guitars before even picking one up at the store play it for the first time is the quality of the finish. The finish is very subtle and has a non-intrusive touch to it on the instrument. You can feel all of the thought and work went into designing the finish, it is truly impressive because the finish is incredibly thin and hard. This thin hard layer of finish is voice enhancing compared to soft and thick finishes that will muffle the voice of a guitar greatly because generally speaking lacquer finishes are made for furniture and they have not accounted for the resonance of a high-end instrument. This new modern innovation lets the instrument’s tonewoods resonate properly giving them a superior tone.

Peter Furch, the CEO and Chief engineer of Furch identified these issues with the standard application and qualities of common lacquers and set out with his team to develop a unique and modern finish made for their guitars in mind. They have clearly succeeded in that goal if you have ever seen the subtle gleam of a Furch guitar. It has always left me with the question of how do they achieve such a fine finish on each and every guitar that they make? Luckily, Furch has released an awesome in-depth video on how the process was designed and implemented at the Furch factory. Its innovations like such as these that set Furch in a league of their own.

New to Brickhouse: Recording King Guitars

Here at Brickhouse, we strive to identify instruments that offer great value. We believe that several Recording King models meet our Brickhouse Guitars criteria. We have been very impressed with our first delivery of guitars. Upon completion of a full setup and restringing, we find that the guitars defy their given price points. Recording King’s offerings are perfect for anyone looking for their first guitar or even skilled players looking to add to their collection.

We will be introducing a select few of the Recording King series. The Dirty 30s 9 series is a great starting point that features a solid spruce top at a great value. Next is the 11 series, it offers guitars that have all solid Sitka and Mahogany. Finally, Recording Kings’ Tonewood Reserve boasts a solid aged Adirondack spruce top with either mahogany or rosewood back and sides at a price that is hard to beat.

An Interview with Michel Pellerin

We are ecstatic to share an in-depth video interview with master guitar luthier Michel Pellerin. Last year at the NAMM show, we were so blown away by Michels CL signature guitar that we had to leave with it. The guitar is truly alive when being played. Every part of the guitar is reactive to the strings vibration giving the guitar a truly full voice. Every detail of this guitar is a decision made and recorded by Michel. No detail has been missed in Michels notes. Every feature on this guitar has a purpose that makes it one of the finest instruments that Brickhouse Guitars has ever under its roof. Michel Pellerin is a true master of his trade, the meticulous attention to detail that he puts into every part of the instrument is an achievement. The guitar is a true joy to play; it feels nearly effortless to move down the neck. The Pellerin CL signature is an instrument that is worth geeking out on. If you have any questions about this amazing guitar, please email us at Sales@brickhouseguitars.com. The Pellerin CL signature is now available for sale.
