Description

The Boucher BG-51 is crafted and engineered to meet the very high requirements of bluegrass guitarists performing live or in the recording studio. This guitar offers a large presence on stage due to the method of construction and choices of woods. The BG-51 is as “present” as all other bluegrass instruments whether you are strumming or soloing.

Robin Boucher personally selects Adirondack red spruce for the bracing and soundboard in order to give the instrument its special bluegrass sonority. Rich low ends, driving mids and beefy highs describe the sound spectrum of our Bluegrass Goose. This guitar is incredibly easy to play due to the elevated soundboard radius and the unique profile of the neck which will perfectly match the hand of the guitarist.

The world of guitar making proclaims that at least 70% of the sound properties of a high-end acoustic guitar have a connection with its soundboard and bracing. Boucher Guitars supports this view. The Adirondack red spruce is, to everyone, the Holy Grail of wood species to consider when designing soundboards. However, its great rarity limits its use among manufacturers. I want to thank Roger for fitting me with the right guitar for me.i am glad I made the trip to meet you and talk guitars . As soon as I walked in the door I felt comfortable and relaxed with no pressure . Roger is a stand up honest person who doesn't try to upsale you and his inventory of fine guitars is second to none. Being a beginner I wanted a guitar I could grow with without breaking the bank and that sounds amazing and Roger checked off all the boxes Thank you Roger for caring more about the individual than the sale CHEERS BUDDY

I had a horrible accident with my 1 year old Beautiful SGI Avenir. The guitar strap slipped off and she hit the ground hard just as I was getting ready to play a gig. I was devastated! I now have her back and Thank you to the amazing work by Alan Husband she looks almost like new. If you didn't know how badly damaged she was you would never know. I also had him restring and do a set up while he had it and it's perfect. I am 100% happy with the workmanship and customer service.

Roger was great to deal with. His quick responses to my emails and questions were much appreciated. I also appreciated Roger creating a very high quality video of the guitars I was interested in purchasing to help me with my choice as I could not come to his shop in person. Once I decided on a guitar, he made sure the guitar got to me ASAP, and it was received on my end within a week and in superb condition!

I've wanted to do this review for well over a month now but could never think of the rights words to give Roger proper praise for the great experience I've had as a new customer. I had been wanting a "lifetime" guitar and had set my sights on a Boucher. There aren't many dealers in Ontario and there was not much stock of what I wanted, but Roger had a few dreadnaughts at his fine store, so I called him up. I had so many questions, as this was my first time ever even considering buying a boutique quality guitar. He always went out of his way to answer my questions... even replying to an email when he had just boarded the flight for his and his wife's vacation. So I thought I wanted a Boucher SG-52-V which is a great guitar, but while at Brickhouse I saw my dream guitar on a stand in the middle of one of his showrooms. It was the Boucher SG-152-MV (Studio Goose, Madagascar Rosewood back and sides, Master grade Adirondack top with their Vintage pack) that I had drooled over so many times on Roger's website. I played it, along with some others, but the 152 blew me away!..and I was in love and really wanted it. Roger was instrumental (pun intended) in making that happen. I drove away on cloud 9 with my dream Boucher "lifetime" guitar, and I even have a YouTube video of my guitar being played by JP Cormier when he visited Roger's shop. Very cool! Truth told, Roger's just a passionate guitar player who cares about people, and who truly wants every other player to have the best musical experience possible...and he comes through with flying colors. Brickhouse Guitars is #1 in my books. If you're thinking of a nice guitar and you have questions, Roger's your man. Thank you Roger and Pauline
