Description

Our BG-52 is crafted and engineered to meet the very high requirements of bluegrass guitarists performing live or in the recording studio. Our guitars offer a large presence on stage due to the method of construction and choices of woods. The BG-52 is as “present” as all other bluegrass instruments whether you are strumming or soloing.

Robin Boucher personally selects Adirondack red spruce for the bracing and soundboard in order to give the instrument its special bluegrass sonority. Rich low ends, driving mids and beefy highs describe the sound spectrum of our Bluegrass Goose. This guitar is incredibly easy to play due to the elevated soundboard radius and the unique profile of the neck which will perfectly match the hand of the guitarist.

I purchased an Avenir guitar from Brickhouse Guitars.Roger and Pauline are so kind and helpful. They made the guitar purchase an easy and most pleasant experience. I had some custom fret work done and it turned out beautifully.The guitar is more beautiful than the demonstration video showed.The sound of the guitar is amazing! Great service from Roger Schmidt, who had two Furch guitars, OMc-SW, that I was interested in. I'm still in awe that he made me a personal video showing me and letting me hear both guitars; I purchased on-line since I'm in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. I had a most excellent experience with my guitar (Boucher HG-56) purchase recently through Brickhouse and am very happy to add to the wonderful reviews for Roger and Pauline. Being from the US and some distance away from the store, I was nervous about shipping, the care of the instrument in transit and of course buying a guitar without playing it first. The entire Brickhouse Guitar experience is first class from start to finish. The appointment only standard gets you Roger's undivided attention in his truly stunning environment and the benefit of his years of experience. He is a true expert and a really nice guy to boot. I purchased my first guitar from Brickhouse six years ago. That was an upgrade from a "camping" guitar that I bought in the 70s. I was immediately impressed with Roger's expertise and the patience that he showed as I tried out a few guitars before making my choice. I recently purchased my third guitar from Brickhouse. Each one has been an upgrade from the previous one in terms of sound quality, playability and the build quality of the instrument. In those six years, Brickhouse has begun featuring an extensive selection of guitars from some of the finest Canadian luthiers, as well as other boutique guitar makers from around the world. I really appreciate Roger's support for Canadian guitar makers, some of which can be counted amongst the best in the world. I don't know of another shop that carries the quality and selection of acoustic guitars that Brickhouse has to choose from. Thank you Roger and Pauline for all you do.

What can I say? Dealing with Roger was a wonderful experience top to bottom! Roger opened his shop early to accommodate me, and although I had my eye on a particular guitar, he brought me others that he thought might be compatible with me. So many lovely guitars but playing these others helped me confirm the one that I wanted to purchase. Roger was friendly and knowledgable about any questions I had. He makes you feel like you’re there hanging out, very casual but professional. Excellent one-on-one service. Stunning guitars through the shop. I left another guitar for his technician, Alan, to do some basic work on. Alan communicated excellently and the guitar came back nicely done. What can I say? I highly recommend Roger and his shop.
